The Ridgeway Community School Board's next meeting will be held on Thursday, April 20th at 5:30 p.m. in the Ridgeway Community School Cooper Classroom room.

Please click on this link to see a copy of the meeting agenda and the board packet on the RCS Board page of our website. Individuals who wish to address the board during the public comment period must be present at the school and share their thoughts in person. Individuals who would like to share their thoughts with the board members in writing may send them to the school office (office@ridgewayschool.org) who will forward them to the other board members, or by emailing all the board members individually

Student Assessment Information Page


2023-2024 School Year

Ridgeway Community School students receiving ELL services will take the ACCESS for ELL assessments according to the following:

  • February 20th to 23rd (kindergarten to 5th grade students, all grades each day)
  • Estimated Assessment Times are as follows:
    • Listening - Up to 40 Minutes
    • Reading - Up to 35 Minutes
    • Speaking - Up to 30 Minutes
    • Writing Tier A - Up to 50 Minutes
    • Writing Tier B/C - Up to 65 Minutes
  • Purpose and Rationale - In accordance with ESEA, the ACCESS assessments are given to annually assess English language proficiency of all English learners.

Ridgeway Community School students will take the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments according to the following:

  • April 16th to 18th - Reading  (3rd to 5th grade students, all grades each day)
  • April 23rd to 25th - Math  (3rd to 5th grade students, all grades each day)
  • April 30th Science  (5th Grade Students only) 
  • Estimated Assessment Times are as follows:
    • Reading 2.5 - 3.5 Hours
    • Math 1.5 - 2.5 Hours
    • Science 1.5 - 2 Hours
  • Purpose and Rationale - In accordance with Minnesota Statutes, section 120B.30 and ESEA, the MCA and MTAS are given to measure achievement on the Minnesota Academic Standards and measure academic progress of students over time.

Ridgeway Community School students will be assessed using the STAR Reading and Math assessments according to the following:

  • All K-5 Students
    • Fall: 
      • Reading - September 12th to 14th
      • Math - September 19th to 21st
    • Winter:
      • Reading - January 9th to 11th
      • Math - January 16th to 18th 
    • Spring:
      • Reading - May 7th to 9th
      • Math - May 14th to 16th
  • Estimated Assessment Times are 20-40 minutes
  • Purpose and Rationale - In accordance with Ridgeway Community School procedures, the standards aligned STAR Reading and Math assessments are given to provide timely and detailed feedback on student growth and development.  These assessments provide data for teachers to inform instruction and to set school wide, individualized, and grade level goals.

Ridgeway Community School students will be assessed using the FASTBridge assessments according to the following: 

  • All K-5 Students
    • Fall: Reading & Math, September 11th - 28th
    • Winter: Reading & Math, January 8th - 26th  
    • Spring: Reading & Math, May 6th - 24th
  • Estimated Assessment Times are 5-30 minutes
  • Purpose and Rationale - In accordance with Ridgeway Community School procedures, the FASTBridge assessments are given to monitor student performance in Reading and Math Fluency.  These assessments provide data for teachers to inform instruction and to set school wide, individualized, and grade level goals.
