Student Assessment Information Page


2021-2022 School Year
Ridgeway Community School students receiving ELL services will take the ACCESS for ELL assessments according to the following:
  • February 21st to 25th Reading  (kindergarten to 5th grade students, all grades each day)
  • Estimated Assessment Times are as follows:
    • Listening - Up to 40 Minutes
    • Reading - Up to 35 Minutes
    • Speaking - Up to 30 Minutes
    • Writing Tier A - Up to 50 Minutes
    • Writing Tier B/C - Up to 65 Minutes
  • Purpose and Rationale - In accordance with ESEA, the ACCESS assessments are given to annually assess English language proficiency of all English learners.
Ridgeway Community School students will take the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments according to the following:
  • April 19th to 21st Reading  (3rd to 5th grade students, all grades each day)
  • April 26th to 28th Math  (3rd to 5th grade students, all grades each day)
  • May 3rd Science  (5th Grade Students only) 
  • Estimated Assessment Times are as follows:
    • Reading 2.5 - 3.5 Hours
    • Math 1.5 - 2.5 Hours
    • Science 1.5 - 2 Hours
  • Purpose and Rationale - In accordance with Minnesota Statutes, section 120B.30 and ESEA, the MCA and MTAS are given to measure achievement on the Minnesota Academic Standards and measure academic progress of students over time.
Ridgeway Community School students will be assessed using the NWEA Map assessments according to the following:
  • All K-5 Students
    • Fall: 
      • Reading - September 7th - 9th
      • Math - September 14th - 16th
    • Winter:
      • Reading - January 11th - 13th
      • Math - January 18th - 20th  
    • Spring:
      • Reading - May 10th - 12th
      • Math - May 17th - 29th
  • Estimated Assessment Times are 45-75 minutes
  • Purpose and Rationale - In accordance with Ridgeway Community School procedures, the standards aligned NWEA Map assessments are given to provide timely and detailed feedback on student growth and development.  These assessments provide data for teachers to inform instruction and to set school wide, individualized, and grade level goals.
Ridgeway Community School students will be assessed using the FASTBridge assessments according to the following: 
  • All K-5 Students
    • Fall: Reading & Math, September 7th - 30th
    • Winter: Reading & Math, January 10th - 28th  
    • Spring: Reading & Math, May 9th - 27th
  • Estimated Assessment Times are 5-30 minutes
  • Purpose and Rationale - In accordance with Ridgeway Community School procedures, the FASTBridge assessments are given to monitor student performance in Reading and Math Fluency.  These assessments provide data for teachers to inform instruction and to set school wide, individualized, and grade level goals.
