MN Reading Tutor (PT) for 2021-22 School Year

Reading Corps GraphicPart-time Reading Corps Positions open
at Ridgeway Community School

In southern Winona County for the 2021-22 School Year

Would you love to help children grow their reading and math skills, succeed in school and get extra support? If your answer is yes, you can be trained to serve as a tutor with Minnesota Reading Corps at  Ridgeway Community School and other schools in southeastern, Minnesota.   Whether you want to explore an educational career, re-enter the workforce, or give back to your community, you can succeed as a tutor. Last year, Minnesota Math and Reading Corps members provided direct services to over 40,000 children in more than 900 sites across the state.

As a part-time Reading Corps Tutor at Ridgeway Community School you'll help struggling Kindergarten to 3rd grade students by providing one-on-one tutoring with the support of Reading Corps materials and training.  Hours for this position will be 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 noon.

In addition to extensive training, tutors will receive on-site support from specially trained school mentors.  Tutors come from many backgrounds and include recent high school and college grads, college students, career changers, stay-at-home parents, and retirees.  This year's Reading Corps Tutor will receive training as soon as hired and begin to serve students directly in October.  Tutors generally serve  through July and gain experience in math education, earn a living allowance, educational award, federal student loan forbearance, and receive a travel stipend.  Most importantly, Reading Corps tutors have the chance to make a real difference in the life of a child.

To apply or learn more about the research based programs, position qualifications, and benefits, visit www.minnesotareadingcorps.org or www.MinnesotaMathCorps.org (do not apply via the school website).  Questions?
