ESL Teacher - PT
Position: ESL Teacher - part-time 
The following position is available for the 2019-20 school year at Ridgeway Community School in southern Winona County.

Job Title: PART TIME ESL TEACHER

Job Description: A part-time ESL Teacher to work with one student at Ridgeway Community School, a public charter school serving Kindergarten to Fifth grade students. 

Qualifications: ESL MN Teaching license and/or MN Elementary Teacher license and experience working with English Language Learners preferred. Ability to seek off-site resources and work with a team. Ability to implement content-based ESL programming. Ability to implement collaborative ESL programming. Familiarity with MN state and district language proficiency assessments. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent organizational & data collection and recording skills. All candidates will be considered.  Ability to make purposeful and appropriate lesson plans that provide for effective teaching strategies and maximize time on task.

Additional Information: An interest in collaborating on intervention strategies with other classroom and specials teachers is critical to the position. Ridgeway Community School is a small, Pre-K to 5th grade multiage charter elementary school in southern Winona County, MN (10 miles from Winona). Applicants must desire to participate fully in a vibrant teacher-led school that serves students of all abilities in an inclusive multi-age learning environment.

Criminal History Report – The school pays for the Criminal History report which is required before any hiring is finalized.


Sick or Personal Paid Days – Employees of Ridgeway Community School working 20 or more hours per week during the school year are entitled to nine sick or personal paid days per year. An employee will become eligible for sick and personal paid days ninety days after their hire date.

Holiday Pay - Employees of the school working 20 or more hours a week for a full school year at the school receive six (6) paid holidays.

Employee Health Insurance – Ridgeway Community School currently does not offer a health insurance or medical plan to any of its employees. All employees are eligible to participate in a 125 tax deferred Flex plan. All employees may choose to select an AFLAC plan.  RCS employees working 30 hours a week or more during the school year are eligible for $3,000 cash in lieu of benefits per year. Allocation of the benefit will begin after a 60-calendar day period is completed.

Employee Retirement Programs:  Ridgeway Community School offers a ROTH IRA retirement plan that all employees may participate in. Plan regulations follow all Federal rules. This plan is an employee contribution only plan. As a public school all teachers are required to contribute to the Teachers Retirement Association. These plans are employee and employer contribution plans based on the current rates allocated by these associations.

Location: Ridgeway Community School is located between Winona, MN and Houston, MN on Winona County Rd 12. The school is 2 miles east of the Intersection of I-90 and MN Hwy 76 along the north frontage road; a half mile west of the village of Ridgeway, MN.
